171 product photos in the guide come from Open Food Facts, a free, open database of food products built by volunteers. Each photo was taken and shared by the Open Food Facts contributor named below and is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license (CC BY-SA 3.0).

We only use a photo when it shows the exact product on the card: same brand and same flavor or variety. Our copies are resized and centered on a white background, with no other changes, and are shared under the same CC BY-SA 3.0 license. Open Food Facts doesn’t endorse The Clean Shelf.

Products without a matching photo show a plain placeholder. Packaging designs, product names and logos shown in the photos belong to their brands. If you’re a brand or a photographer and want a photo changed, credited differently or removed, use the feedback form or email .
