Privacy Policy

Effective November 2, 2026

The Clean Shelf is operated by The Clean Shelf, LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company (“we”), and we respect your privacy. This policy explains what The Clean Shelf website and app (“the guide”) do with information.

Information stored on your device

The guide doesn’t have user accounts. It saves a few things in your browser, on your device only: your license key and a device ID, an offline copy of the guide, your favorites, and your shopping list. We can’t see your favorites or your list. To unlock the guide, your license key and device ID are sent to our license check, which asks our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, whether the key is valid and, for a yearly plan, whether the subscription is still active. In the Android app, if you subscribe or buy through Google Play, the purchase token and product ID from Google Play are sent instead, and our license check asks Google Play whether the purchase is valid and, for a subscription, still active. This happens when you first enter the key or make the purchase, and about once a week after that. You can delete everything at any time by tapping “Sign out on this device,” clearing your browser data, or uninstalling the app.

Information we don’t collect

The guide doesn’t use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies, and doesn’t collect your name, location, or contacts.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. It collects the details needed to process your payment, such as your name, email, and payment information, under its own privacy policy. We receive the order details the provider shares with sellers, such as your email address, and use them only to deliver your license key, check that it’s valid, and provide support.

Purchases made in The Clean Shelf Android app are processed by Google Play under Google’s terms and privacy policy. We don’t receive your card details. Google Play gives us a purchase token, the product you bought, and its status, which we use only to unlock the guide, check that the purchase is still valid, and provide support.

Feedback form

If you use the feedback form, we receive what you type: the topic, an optional product name, your message, and your email address if you choose to give one. Form submissions are processed by our hosting provider, Netlify. We use them only to fix problems, update the guide, and reply to you, and we don’t sell or share them.

Hosting and offline use

Like any website, the server that hosts the guide may automatically log basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, for security and reliability. The guide caches its own files on your device so it works offline.

Links to other sites

Shop buttons and source links open other websites, such as brand sites, Amazon, Target, and Walmart. Those sites have their own privacy practices. If a link is an affiliate link, that retailer may record that you arrived from The Clean Shelf.

Children

The guide isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the effective date above.
